Description
Day 1
In ATV Cancun the adventure begins as soon as we pick you up from the comfort of your hotel in one of our comfortable A/C shuttles (small groups).
Then we will go to Puerto Morelos famous
“La Ruta de los Cenotes”, approximately 45 minutes from Cancun or Playa del Carmen (depending your hotel location).
Upon arrival to the park site, a Bilingual and Certified Tour Guide will give a short briefing to the whole group about the route, facilities, precautions and the proper use of the atv´s & safety equipment.
Now, is time to put on your helmet, choose whether single or shared ATV and Let the fun begin!.
You will drive the ATV´s for 30 – 40 minutes approx. through the jungle on rocky roads to the Zip-Line starting point. Where you will recive special and suitable equipment (helmet, harness and gloves) according to your specific requirements.
Start by climbing 15 meters until you reach the suspension platforms and zip lines, then smile & fly 100 meters over the treetops.
Finally the best part of the tour awaits you!
Swim in one of the most beautiful and impressive natural Cenotes (sink hole), it´s time to put on your floating vests and jump off, slide and splash in the cool fresh and cristalin water off the Mayan Jungle.
Day 2
The brilliant ruins of Chichen Itza evidence a dazzling ancient city that once centered the Mayan Empire.
The name Chichen Itza means ” at the mouth of the well of Itza”. Itza being the name of an ethnic group of the Yucatan Peninsula.
Once a center of political and economic power and important commercial trading.
Goods included Gold, cacao beans, Quetzal bird feathers and other important merchandise. Clothing and food products were exchanged with cities as far as South and Central America. And its believed that as many as 50,000 people lived in this city.
All the buildings were linked by a network of nearly 100 “sacbé ob” (paved roadways and sidewalks). Many of their buildings were painted in bright colors.
El Castillo – the 100 feet high temple of Kukulkan named for it’s deity that appears as a feathered serpent. This temple (pyramid) was the site of religious rites that were ment to insure good agricultural harvest.
El Caracol – Observatory a unique structure used for astronomical purposes. The Great Ball Court, the steam room, the temple of nuns, temple of warriors and many other enigmatic stone carved buildings.
The Sacred Well (cenote) has immense ceremonial and archeological significance.
The dredjing yield numerous precious artifacts made of Gold, Turquoise and Jade. As well as human and animal remains.
Today some 2 million tourist visit this impressive historical and cultural site annually to gain insight into Mayan architectural city and religious beliefs and practices.
Chichen Itza remains an active archeological site. New discoveries are still being unearthed in this area.
UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site. In 2007 it was voted in a global survey as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
